Many people in the country are posting misconceptions about foreign exchange, which has created fear among the people.
People need not fear about this. The Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivat Cabral stated at a press conference held at the Central Bank on 14.10.2021 that although this matter made crisis situation in Sri Lanka, the foreign exchange reserves will be changed through special financial activities taken by the Central Bank.
Foreign assets of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka fell to US $ 400 million in August from US $ 982 million in the previous month.
However, the Governor of the Central Bank said that such cases had occurred 15 times in Sri Lanka, adding that this was a temporary situation and could be reversed in the coming days through financial transactions.
