The Sri Lanka government decided to reduce the corona treatment centers gradually

As the number of corona cases in the country is declining, the government has decided to gradually reduce Government treatment centers.

This was stated by Dr. Anwar Hamdani, Chief Coordinator, covid-19, Ministry of Health and Director, Health Services Technology Division.

Accordingly, he said that 30 treatment centers have been completely removed from those operations. He mentioned this to a Sinhala media. He continued to comment, As the number of covid patients decreases, steps are being taken to gradually reduce the number of remaining treatment centers. Of the 34,007 beds currently in treatment centers, 19660 have been vacated so far.

About 40% of the beds in the intensive care units reserved for covid treatment are now empty. The number of covid patients has dropped.

The covid situation has moved from the red zone to the green zone. However, if the current status is not maintained it will soon turn to the red zone.

Dr. Anwar Hamdani added that although some health laws have been relaxed to maintain the country, it is still important for people to adhere to basic health laws.
